Our History & Heritage

Wilson Industries was originally founded in 1968 as Wilson Associates by William “Wil” McAteer and his son, Roger McAteer—the inspiration behind the name “Wil-son.”

• The Early Years: Roger officially incorporated the business in March 1972 after graduating from Queens College (CUNY) with a degree in Economics and Marketing.
• Generational Leadership: In 1974, Roger took the helm as his father’s successor, formalizing the modern corporate structure in 1982.
• A Legacy of Excellence: Over decades of service, Roger became a respected industry legend. Known for his deep competitive analysis, mastery of features and benefits, and tireless territory management, Roger consistently shattered sales quotas and built enduring brand influence. Following his sudden passing in December 2022, his legacy of integrity and dedication remains the bedrock of our company.

Leadership & Key Personnel

Ken Winters – Principal & Managing Director

In January 2023, Ken Winters assumed leadership of Wilson Industries. A technology and business development specialist since 2007, Ken brings modern systems integration, strategic project management, and technology-driven sales methodologies to the firm.

• Education & Credentials: Ken holds a Bachelor of Science from DeVry University and an MBA with a concentration in Project Management from Keller Graduate School. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Management at the University of Phoenix (expected 2027).

Gary Barbato – Senior Technical Sales Executive

Gary is a widely recognized industry veteran with over four decades of territory experience. Beginning his career with Techni-Tool (1980–1991) and Marshall Industries (1995–1999), Gary has covered Pennsylvania and key Mid-Atlantic regions with distinction.
