Since 1968, now through three generations, Wilson Industries Inc. represents and supports leading manufacturers with unmatched sales expertise. The name Wilson Industries, originally Wilson Associates, derives from ‘Wil and son” of William McAteer, founder in 1968, and son Roger McAteer.  Roger incorporated in the business back in March of 1972.  He graduated from Queens College – City University of New York with an Economics and Marketing Degree.  In 1974, Roger was the succession plan and inherited the ownership, later incorporated in 1982.  

 

Roger, an industry legend, became an expert in everything he touched. He always studied the competition and leveraged selling features and benefits. Across many decades, he worked the territory, grew sales exponentially, achieved many “Quota Busters,” and grew the various brands’ influence and exposure. Unfortunately, in December 2022, Roger passed away suddenly, and then his nephew, Kenneth Free, took over as his successor.

Gary Barbato, a well-known industry icon, dates his experience back to 1980-1991 working for Techni-Tool, then Marshall Industries 1995-1999 covering all of Pennsylvania including Pittsburgh.  Gary then joined Wilson Industries in 2000.  Now over 24 years with us, Gary’s experience, technical expertise, and myriad of customer’s & contacts have grown the register to over 150 Key accounts, 175 development accounts, 3,880 total accounts with thousands of contact names.

With over 56 years of experience, we have a proven track record of increasing product sales for our principals through technologically focused, targeted, synergistic sales efforts.
